Allison Cara Tolman is an American actress from America. Her character, Molly Solverson, in season one of FX's Fargo television series earned her nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe. Tolman is the eldest of three siblings. She has two brothers older than her. The family relocated out of England to Sugar Land Texas when Tolman was just the age of a newborn. Prior to making the move to Sugar Land in Texas, she lived for five years in Oklahoma and West Texas. In the year she turned 10, Fort Bend Community Theatre began giving acting classes. Clements High School was her high school and she was able to graduate in 2000. Baylor University gave her a degree in The Bachelor of Fine Arts, Theatre Performance. In the years following her graduation, she lived in Dallas and was a founding member of Second Thought Theatre. After 2009, Tolman relocated into Chicago, Illinois, to take classes in the art of performing with The Second City Training Center. Tolman gained fame in 2014 as Tolman was a part of FX's Fargo. Fargo was based on Coen Brothers' film with the same title. It starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman as well as Bob Odenkirk. Tolman's performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently was the star of the show". Critics' Choice Television Award, Best Supporting Actress (Movie/Miniseries) as well as Golden Globe nominations were given for Tolman's role. It was also in the same year that it was revealed that Tolman is scheduled to make a guest role on the Mindy Project on the show as Abby Berman who is a romantic author. The show premiered in September of 2019, however, it was canceled after a season on May 21 2020. She was also a guest star on the NBC show Good Girls. She was a part of 2021's Alma Filcott on the second season of Why Women Kill and Natalie Green in the book The Facts of Life, of Live in Front of a Studio Audience, third edition.
